Chemical tankers

Opis

These are also called parcel tankers. They are small in size between 5,000 and 25,000-ton deadweight, while there are also several chemical tankers which have a size of about 50,000-ton deadweight. Chemical tankers are mainly used in two trades: For shipping of extremely hazardous oils (IMO I) and shipping of edible/vegetable oils as well as very clean oil products (IMO II / IMO III).

For the safe shipping of hazardous cargoes, the tankers need to be equipped with very high standards such as:

- Coated with high-grade materials such as stainless steel, epoxy resin, and zinc silicate. These covers are easier to clean and also serve as protection against damage to the cargo or ship.

- Each tank has its own deep well pump and pipeline system, so the cargo of each tank is loaded and unloaded separately. In this way, different grades can be loaded separately while there is absolutely no risk of contamination as it is fully segregated.
