The SeaRates team is grateful for your loyalty and great support. Every month, we release new features and enhancements, and this month is no exception. We present to you the results of our hard work. If you subscribe to our SeaRates news feed, we will notify you when a new release is ready.
Go ahead and check out the new features and opportunities.
SeaRates Mobile Application Version 1.0
We are proud to present the SeaRates Mobile Application Version 1.0. Now you can get real-time data on shipping schedules by Point and by Vessel in the most convenient way, using the updated Ship Schedules API functionality available in the app.
In the application, you will find detailed information about the vessels transporting your containers (such as IMO, flag, capacity (TEU), and year of construction).
For more precise shipping planning, we have also added a "Transport" field to determine the type of transport vessel, feeder, barge, rail, or truck.
Find the Deadlines section in the app. These are all the time limits provided by the shipping line for your transportation: Container gate-in, Shipping Instructions, Verified Gross Mass, Port Cut Off, and Documentation Closing Time. The current version of the app supports the "Port Cut Off" deadline.
Also, we have added an interactive route map for detailed search and planning of shipments, which allows the user to trace the entire route of the cargo from the place of departure to the place of arrival.
All the benefits of the app are already available on the App Store and Google Play.
Ship Schedules Version 2
We are proud to announce the release of Ship Schedules Version 2. Now you can search for information faster and more efficiently thanks to the new version of the Ship Schedules API.
We have added an updated version of autocomplete to the tool. Also, the default search for alternative routes has been implemented.
In addition, we have added an interactive map and all shipment dates to fully track the movement of cargo.
Moreover, the Ship Schedules Version 2 tool provides additional information on vessels, including IMO, flag, capacity (TEU), year of construction, and country of registration, for a more detailed tracing.
Documentation on SeaRates services
We're glad to introduce the new API Documentation, which contains updated content about SeaRates API integrations. Also, you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about the integration, tools’ functionality, etc.
Also, we have added the ability to download the specification in JSON format in accordance with OpenAPI Specification v3.1.0, Postman Collection, and Swagger for each version of the API integration tools.
Tracking System
Now, Tracking System API users have access to update the Metadata field for additional data by making “/container” and “/reference” requests.
Also, we have improved the display of the shipping status in Metadata: PLANNED, IN_TRANSIT, and DELIVERED. For the transportation of several containers, IN_TRANSIT and DELIVERED statuses can be used simultaneously.
Moreover, Metadata displays the full name of the shipping line in addition to the SCAC code.
Furthermore, we have added a transport_type field to the Tracking System API to display the transport related to the shipping event for precise route selection by type of transport. The following meanings for specific vehicles are now available: VESSEL, BARGE, FEEDER, TRUCK, RAIL, and AIR.
We have made improvements to the way we work with providers, including Sealead Shipping, CMA CGM, Jin Jiang Shipping (SHJJ), Hapag-Lloyd, Hamburg Sud, COSCO, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), Namsung Shipping, Econship, W.E.C. (West European Container) Lines, Ethiopian Shipping Line, Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), Sinotrans Container Lines, Westwood Shipping Lines, National Shipping of America, JAS Worldwide (Ocean), Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), Maersk, Shipco Transport, ZIM, Marguisa Shipping Lines, and Yang Ming.
Logistics Explorer
We have added booking information to the Logistics Explorer API, provided with the new documentation.
Now you can use the Logistics Explorer tool to separate Bulk freight rates into direct and alternative ones.
We have implemented the ability to search and enter FTL rates per m3 and ft3.
Moreover, we added the capability to create a Quick Request form on the rate results page.
Ship Schedules
We have made enhancements to the way we work with providers, including Hapag-Lloyd, PIL, Maersk, APL, and Yang Ming by Points tab, as well as with Hapag-Lloyd and Yang Ming by Vessel tab.
Also, we added a history of queries to the Ship Schedules tool.
